GBREPC 2014-15 Kick Off 9/16/14
GBREPC Holds Welcomes New and Prospective Members at Opening Event
The Greater Boca Raton Estate Planning Council (GBREPC) drew a large turnout for its 2014-2015 season-opening reception. Established and prospective members gathered at The Addison of Boca Raton for a meet-and-greet cocktail reception. The reception was generously sponsored by Wells Fargo Private Bank.
Representing Wells Fargo Private Bank in the Boca Raton branch was Sharon DaBrusco, CTFA, Wealth Advisor and Senior Vice President. “This is the fourth year in a row that Wells Fargo Private Bank is sponsoring the GBREPC’s opening event,” said DaBrusco. “As a past president, director emeritus and a 20+ year member of the GBREPC, I fully understand the value of this great organization and its ever growing membership. Wells Fargo Private Bank is committed to supporting the GBREPC. Working in tandem with the GBREPC, our bank has been able to better serve our clients who want to take advantage of what matters most.”
The event also launched the GBREPC presidency of Paul Roman. An attorney with the firm of Hankins Northwood Roman Wenzel P.L., Roman is a longstanding member of the GBREPC and served as its president 20 years ago. Roman is excited about again serving as president and while the organization is healthy and growing, Roman understands the importance of retaining members and attracting prospects, especially those from new related fields. “A number of years ago the GBREPC expanded its membership criteria to include certified financial planners and planned giving experts from charitable organizations,” said Roman. “We are now looking beyond that – as South Florida’s premier estate planning networking organization, the GBREPC has always stood for progress. With board approval, I hope to extend membership to at least a limited number of associated professionals such as property/casualty risks planners. Their participation in our organization will add diversity to our networking opportunities and their presence will help us all improve our practices and better serve and advise our clients.”
Roman believes that a key to a robust membership is dynamic programming. He and the board of directors have planned a season of monthly dinner meetings that will enlighten and excite. “This season we have lined up some nationally respected speakers who are sure to generate interest, “said Roman. “We are bringing in some speakers from the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, and other presenters who will give a twist and fresh spin to our programming.”

Founded in 1984, the GBREPC has a growing membership of approximately 150 professionals from the fields of accounting, law, trusts, insurance, financial planning and planned giving. Affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, the GBREPC provides cutting edge educational programs and networking opportunities for local professionals who value collaboration and career growth. Monthly meetings, in season, keep members and their guests current on estate planning trends and changes in tax laws. In addition, the organization strives to provide the public with a better understanding and appreciation of the estate planning process.
